ANA VUJANOVIC
The Transindividuality in Contemporary
Dance and Performance
In this lecture Vujanović discusses the notion of “the transindividual” as a possible horizon for thinking the relationship between the common and the singular. Several dance and performance works become her points of departure in identifying and unpacking artistic strategies that compose that in-between space. Relating to Vujanovic’s long-term experiment in social dramaturgy, wherein she activates various concepts, tools and knowledge from performing arts in analyzing social processes and configurations, transindividuality compels a wider reflection about neoliberal subjectivity and its ways of performing the self.
